Who we are

MO12 Met Contact Centre: The role of MetCC is to provide advice & guidance to operational officers. As well as advice and guidance, their job is to ensure that officers pass the correct commentary and information in order to ensure that they receive the correct support. They need to be able to coordinate specific incidents and deploy the correct units to that incident. And as a member of the MetCC team, controllers operate as a link between all the different divisions and emergency services in our patrols. Above all other duties, their main duty is to assess the health and wellbeing of each officer on the ground.


Our Importance

MetCC is necessary to ensure that the patrol is organised and running efficiently with units being sent to the correct calls. The are also responsible for the running of patrol and dispatching of calls, the control room ensures that officers are not left in a vulnerable position. As well as general dispatching, control ensures officers are coordinated on a major incident and an effective investigation is completed. Controllers are able to take a step back and evaluate each call, assign the correct units and remove jobs if additional support is required for another officer.
